About the Photographer
Preserving the special moments in your life with distinctive photographs is the specialty of Fern Flanary Quinn, owner of A Thousand Words Photography in Lexington Park, Maryland. Fern is a highly trained professional in all aspects of photography, with over 22 years of experience. She attended photography courses at St. Mary's College of MD, and The Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester NY , and has worked in various fields within photography, including as a staff photographer for 2 years at St. Mary's College of MD, and for 6 years with the MIL Corporation at NAWCAD Photo Services, Pax River, MD. She opened a full-time studio in March, 2003, concentrating her talents in heirloom portraiture, creative wedding photography, and quality customer service.
Fern has the ability to unobtrusively blend into an event to get the creative candid shots, capturing the moments of the day that "starry-eyed" couples may have missed. She can also take charge during the formal posing sessions to help the newlyweds, their families, and the bridal party feel comfortable while making sure they look their best. Her varied photographic experience has developed in her the ability to capture just what the client was looking for, and her creative side sprinkles in an element of surprise and beauty.
